Registration Clerk- Per Diem
Job SummaryThe Registration Clerk is responsible for the coordination of an effective, efficient admissions process for all patients by receiving referrals, gathering and verifying pertinent information, and completing necessary procedures to pre-register and admit inpatients and/or outpatients.
The position compiles and inputs statistical information into appropriate hospital systems, screens and routes hospital phone calls, verifies insurance and identity of patients.
May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and/or night shifts.
Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
1-2 years customer service experience preferred Experience with general office equipment; fax, telephone, copy machine, computer required Medical terminology and previous healthcare experience Skills and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks Ability to assess and observe patients Ability to communicate face to face and via telephone with patients, families, physicians and co-workers Ability to identify and solve problems independently Benefits Overview:
